Regenerative Agroforestry Research Farm - WANTED
The Forest Farmers are currently looking for a farm with 20-40 hectares of agricultural land and adjacent forest on which we can develop a research farm for regenerative agroforestry. This farm will be a blend of best practices in regenerative agriculture combined with old techniques and new approaches
The aim is to create a multi-layered mosaic landscape that encompasses different production systems, from mixed nut fields for the cultivation of staple foods, diverse orchards, biotope oriented family animal husbandry between trees to no-till and regenerative forms of grain and potato production. Other possible components include self-sustaining fish ponds, hemp production for food, fibres and building materials as well as timber production.
One focus is to test different production methods and practices in order to gain valuable and necessary experience of regenerative agroforestry in temperate climates. The products will ideally be marketed regionally via various sales channels and processed locally.
With the development of this farm we want to deepen the understanding, experience and practice of regenerative agroforestry as an applicable agricultural production system. The aim is to grow healthy and nutritious products while restoring soil fertility, sequestering carbon, purifying air and water, creating habitats for wildlife and combining nature and agriculture.
